Exercise Physiologist
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and Implement Fitness Plans: Develop individualized exercise prescriptions to improve cardiovascular function, body composition, recovery from injury(using CBP traction and exercise) and flexibility for patients in a Chiropractic Office.
- Clinical Testing and Analysis: Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, MRI, Posture Exam, and SoftWave TherapyTRT, to evaluate a patient’s overall health.
- Medical Record Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports, physiological calculations, and patient progress notes for review by physicians and medical teams.
- Patient Education: Provide counseling on lifestyle modifications, injury prevention, and the safe use of exercise equipment to ensure patient compliance and safety.
- Regulatory Compliance: Review patient health history and physician referrals for conformance with medical board regulations and facility insurance requirements.
- Field Work & On-Site Assessments: Travel to various clinical or corporate wellness sites to perform health screenings and ergonomic assessments.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to manage patient care plans and resolve clinical concerns.
- Administrative Tasks: Process patient insurance billing requests, maintain equipment calibration logs, and manage project closeout reports.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Physical Demands: Ability to perform light to moderate work (lifting and assisting patients up to 20 lbs.).
- Mobility: Must be able to stand, walk, and demonstrate exercises for prolonged periods of time.
- Dexterity: Capable of performing repetitive motions involving wrists and hands, specifically for manual blood pressure readings and computer data entry.
- Visual Acuity: Strong close visual acuity for analyzing posture exams, x-ray, and viewing computer screens.
- Work Environment: The noise level is usually minimal, typical of a clinical or office setting.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Standard medical PPE (gloves, masks) may be required during clinical testing. While in the field, appropriate professional athletic attire or safety gear as required by the site.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology, exercise science, or a related kinesiology field.
- Experience: 0 – 2 years of experience in a clinical or rehabilitative setting.
- Certification: ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) or Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) MRI Technologist Diploma recommended or obtainable within 6 months.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Softwave TherapyTRT, CBP Traction and Exercise and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Soft Skills: Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
